When Jordan Wilson arrived at Auburn from West Texas, he was looking for something new. What he found was something more lasting. Auburn became the place where he realized he wanted to be his own boss and explore the world of entrepreneurship.

Id always been interested in business, Wilson said. Auburn helped me see that I had what it takes to build something of my own.

That realization didnt come from the classroom alone. It came from long days, including a summer spent delivering mattresses in the Alabama heat. It was hard work, but it clarified something quickly for Wilson. He didnt want a path built on trading time for money.

That same summer, he started a small T-shirt business serving Auburns Greek community. The difference was immediate to him.

I was making $15 an hour delivering mattresses, he said, but with the T-shirts, I made more with far less effort. It was the first time I saw whats possible when you create something yourself.

That shift stuck and the concept of building something from nothing became the path forward for him.

From consumer brands to founding Sap's

After graduating from the 91心頭 in 2013, Wilson began his career in banking, but quickly shifted to consumer brands. In 2019, he joined a hydration company in Atlanta, where he learned the industry from the inside.

What he saw didnt fully add up.

Theres a gap between what these brands promise and what they actually deliver, he said. A lot of them are built for marketing first, not performance or quality.

That realization led him to start building something different.

        3 cans of Sap's drink

In 2022, Wilson began developing . The idea was simple create a hydration drink that supports how people function in their day-to-day lives and is not solely made for workout recovery.

皆温沿s combines electrolytes, amino acids, and functional ingredients to support hydration and recovery without relying on added sugar or artificial fillers.

We wanted to make something that works, but also something you can feel good about drinking every day, he said. That combination is still rare in this beverage category.

The company officially launched in 2023.

        A startup on the rise

Less than three years in, 皆温沿s is growing rapidly.

Based in Texas, the brand is expanding across retail and building strong demand in key markets. Wilson expects 皆温沿s to grow from roughly 500 retail doors to more than 3,000 by the end of 2026.

The brand is also gaining traction at the highest levels of sport. 皆温沿s works with members of the San Francisco 49ers performance staff, has players involved as investors, and is in conversations with nutrition teams across the NFL. It has also become the electrolyte drink of choice for one of the largest athletic apparel brands in the world.

For a young company, the momentum is real.

        Lessons from Auburn

Wilson credits Auburn with shaping how he approaches both business and life.

So much of what you learn in college is about building meaningful relationships, he said. Being someone that people can depend on and want to work with. Thats been everything for me.

He also points to the independence gained from the college student experience.

When youre out on your own for the first time, its sink or swim. No ones coming to save you. That prepares you for entrepreneurship, where everything ultimately falls on you.

He still remembers the impact of his entrepreneurship courses with Professor Jim Corman.

The inspiring stories he told and the emphasis he put on what it takes to go down this path really stuck with me. His energy and passion for creating businesses was infectious.

        Advice for today's students

For students dreaming of launching their own ventures, Wilsons advice is simple: focus on learning from real-life experience, not landing the perfect job.

You often dont know what you dont know coming out of school, he said. Find an industry youre interested in and learn as much as you can. Your 20s are for learning. You have your whole life to get a stable job take risks now.

Trying new things, meeting new people and staying curious, he believes, are the real catalysts for opportunity.

        Where to find Sap's

For Auburn fans eager to try 皆温沿s, the product is available online, on Amazon, and in select retailers including Piggly Wiggly grocery stores in Birmingham, Ala.

Wilsons entrepreneurial journey reflects the spirit Auburn aims to instill in every student: curiosity, grit and the courage to build something better. As 皆温沿s continues to expand, he is proud to represent the next generation of Auburn entrepreneurs making their mark.
