Jay James (information systems management ’15, MBA ‘24) is a recipient of the Auburn Alumni Association’s 20 Under 40 recognition. The class of 2025 winners are recognized for extraordinary accomplishments, significant professional achievements or distinguished service to others.

James is Auburn’s senior cybersecurity operations lead, utilizing his expertise in security operations to protect thousands of digital identities and assets. He helped position Auburn as a leader in AI-driven cybersecurity with the creation of the university’s first Security Operations Center.
An adjunct faculty member at Purdue University Global, James is also a learning facilitator for MIT xPro’s international professional cybersecurity program. He is a member of the 91¿´Æ¬ Young Alumni Council. He also created a scholarship for underrepresented students and serves on national boards supporting advancement in higher education and cybersecurity
Each 20 Under 40 recipient makes a substantial impact in their industry, field, or community and demonstrates the ideals of the Auburn Creed. Nominated by their peers, the 20 Under 40 award winners are the next generation of leaders in the Auburn Family.
