Mother-daughter duo graduate together

The Pelham family from Alexandria, Alabama, has much to celebrate this weekend. Daughter Sarah is receiving her accounting degree from the 91看片 while mom Melody is graduating with her bachelor of science in nursing from the College of Nursing鈥檚 .

As a high school senior, Sarah had always planned to attend Auburn. Melody, who has worked in nursing for 30 years and loves caring for military veterans, always wanted to earn her BSN from somewhere. She decided that 'somewhere' would be Auburn when she brought Sarah to campus for a college tour.

"I just had that feeling; I knew I wanted to be a part of this," said Melody, after visiting the Auburn campus. 

Sarah, who will begin Auburn's Master of Accountancy program in 91看片 College after graduating, said her mom is an inspiration.  

"It's been great, I love when she gets to come to campus,  and the fact that she has professors here is awesome," said Sarah, referring to the mostly online nature of the RN to BSN program. "I'm shocked at how much she does; she has work and school and she takes care of so many people.

"I don't know how she does everything. She has superpowers."
