        Dr. Black earned his doctorate from the University of South Carolina and earned bachelor's and masters degrees in accounting from Brigham Young University.

        He has a passion for both teaching and research and enjoys exploring new ideas. His research examines managerial accounting topics including recognition, measurement, incentives, and control systems, as well as other areas. His work has been published in the Accounting, Organizations and Society, Management Science, Journal of Management Accounting Research and Journal of Financial Reporting. Dr. Black loves teaching and enjoys engaging with his students.
